The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) launched a national announcement to fill 676 vacancies for researchers and research support professionals, who will work in all regions of the country. The selection process is scheduled to start on March 21st, 2010. According to the Director-President of Embrapa, Dr. Pedro Arraes, this selection process, which was negotiated by Embrapa in the framework of the Brazilian Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), is part of Embrapa´s efforts to improve its capacity to target and meet new challenges. “An increase in the number of employees of this order is unprecedented” said Dr. Arraes, who also declared that Embrapa is preparing to consolidate its position as the world leader in tropical agricultural research, helping Brazil to become a reference in the production of food, agricultural raw materials and biofuels.
Candidates may choose areas of expertise quite diverse as nanotechnology, animal health, human resource management, among others. The new professionals will be allocated to the central units of Embrapa, in its headquarters in Brasilia, and across the decentralized research units, in all regions of Brazil.
